Mandates and Functions
The National Reference Laboratory for Environmental, Occupational Health, Toxicology and Micronutrient Assay (NRL-EOHTM) is an attached government agency of the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) established in accordance with Department Order No. 393-E s, 2000, dated November 14, 2000.
Functions
- Provide laboratory reference / referral services for confirmatory testing, surveillance and research
- Train laboratory personnel
- Maintain quality assurance program for laboratory tests through proficiency testing and
- Perform technical evaluation of reagents and diagnostic kits

- Department of Health (DOH) Proficiency Testing Provider for Water Microbiological and Drug Testing Laboratories
- Technical Performance Evaluation of Screening Drug Testing Kits prior to product registration by Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Technical Performance Evaluation of Drinking Water Purification Device prior to product registration by Center for Device Regulation, Radiation Health and Research (CDRRHR), FDA
- Technical Performance Evaluation of Health Care Waste Treatment devices prior to product registration by CDRRHR, FDA.
